Trying to determine what you should wear on your first date can be a very challenging decision. It is also a decision that may encourage a guy to ask you out again or discourage him from doing so. Of course, what you say and how you act are more important than what you wear, but it cannot be denied that the clothes the people we meet are wearing affect our opinions of them.
Take some time and consider your body. What parts of your body to you like the most? Which parts look good when you are dressed up? Which parts do you often try to hide? It is important to know the answers to these questions so that you are able to find clothing that will make your good points stand out.
If you have a favorite skirt and top that you really have to squeeze to get into, and once it is on you cannot really move freely, you should not wear them on your first date. Actually, you should not wear them at all, but definitely not on a first date. If you try to make clothing fit, when it really does not, you will not be doing yourself any favors. In fact, you may actually be turning your date off, rather than turning him on. Love yourself for the size that you are.
Next, consider colors. This is very important. For example, you do not want to be wearing white if you have a pale complexion. They key is to not look too drab or too colorful. If you love bright colors, of course you can wear them, but try to offset some of the brightness with a dark pair of pants or skirt. Accessories, such as earrings or a handbag, are a good way to introduce some color if you do not normally wear much beyond blacks, browns and grays. Whatever you choose to wear, blues and greens are normally a safe bet.
If you are really stuck on what to wear, then you might want a specific list. So, here goes! Wear black jeans and pair them with a blue long sleeved top. This can be a thin sweater or a cotton shirt, depending on how hot the weather is. For footwear, choose between heels or smart boots, whichever you feel more comfortable in. The color of your footwear should match the color of your jeans or top. Wear a thin neck scarf too. A different shade of blue to your top is a good color choice for the scarf.
